Sing and Sign is probably one of the most important things I could have done for my twin babies. My son especially communicates with me with some ease because of the wonders of signing. I tell everyone I meet. It truly is fab and Angelina is utterly brilliant. Niki, Herbie and Bo x
ReplyDeleteThere have been so many times when signing has allowed me precious communication with my son... here is one:
ReplyDeleteWhen Raff was 14 months old, he had been signing with enthusiasm for a few months, but didn't yet have any spoken words. We went to stay with some friends in France for a few days, and in contrast to when we were at home, he didn't settle well when I put him to bed the first night. I went back in when he started crying, at which point he stopped crying and just lay there, repeatedly signing 'home'. It broke my heart as obviously I couldn't take him home, but at least I knew what in particular was upsetting him, and could try to explain why he wasn't going to sleep at home that night.
I was at angelinas very first class in Bushey and have never regretted it. Apart from being able to communicate with my son, Kieran, I made some great friends, who I am still in contact with now. At first I wasn't sure if it would work but he loved the singing, Jessie cat and DVD so I was happy to take him along. One night, when he was 10 months old and I was trying to settle him in the middle of the night, he did not one but two signs! He had had a bottle and been changed but just wouldn't settle..... Suddenly, he sat up in bed and signed that he wanted more milk! I was so proud I forgot how tired I was! Phoebe loved it too and a new baby is due next feb so have already reserved my place for sept 2011! X
ReplyDeleteTeddy and I have thoroughly enjoyed Angelinas Stage 2 Sing & Sign classes we started when Teddy was 18 months and are sadly finishing this term he is now 26 months. I wish Id started earlier. Ive done about every baby class going and this is definitely one of the best and that is due to Angelina who is so lovely- classes are really down to earth and fun and the children adore her ane her Jessie Cat!
ReplyDeleteTeddy loved the DVD so much he accidentally broke it so i've had to buy another- now that has to be a good sign of how good these classes and concept are! Teddy loved doing signs at home independently.
I'm looking forward to returning to Angelinas classes when our new baby due March is old enough!

Not only is sing and sign the best class my daughter has ever done, but it is tons of fun for the parents too. Angelina is such a positive influence you can't help but come away from her classes full of happy vibes! I can not recommend her classes enough, you and your little one will love sing and sign and you will love Angelina!
ReplyDeleteI must tell you of an experience I had in John Lewis Cafe a few weeks ago, I sat next to a lovely Mum and her twins to eat lunch and it was so funny because after a few minutes I realised that we were both sitting there trying to persuade our littlies to eat by using sing and sign! Of course we have both done classes with the famous Angelina and we were both raving about how wonderful you are!!! We must have looked mad to the people sitting around us but the sing and sign magic lives on...
