5/11/12
Hi Angelina,

I know you are snowed under with bookings but I wanted to write while I have a minute.
Just wanted to pass along that Sing n Sign has been one of the best activities we've done with Elodie. We feel that it minimized her level of frustration from an early age as she was able to communicate at least some needs so early in life. I remember playing peek-a-boo with her in her buggy in the early signing stages. She was enjoying the game for a while but then made the sign for "all done". She was ready to move on and got to have a sense of having some control over getting her needs and wants met.
This is just one example of many. And as she has begun speaking the signs still help to minimize frustration as she can try a word but add a sign that makes it clearer since we can't yet understand everything she's saying. :) Sometimes it's the only way I've understood a word she was using.
Here is a list I've kept over the last few months. Some have dropped off now, but she still slips a few in now and then.
Sausage
Giraffe
Cold
Rabbit
Play
Hot
Scared
Music
Reindeer
Snow
Carrot
Playing
Cat
Spider
Christmas tree
Flower
Chocolate cake
Biscuit
Beans on toast
Windy
And the DVDs are still among her favorites. She has started to sing along with some of the songs now too.
If I'd recommend any activity to a new mum it would be teaching the baby to sign and Sing n Sign makes that easy and fun to do. Thanks so much for bringing this to our lives. I think it will have a lifelong effect on Elodie.

All the best,
Margann, Matt, and Elodie
